Next Event August 22nd. More Info Will Be @ www.pluckerfest.com Awesome Mother Pluckers is a band that has survived many life traumas making us very sensitive to the struggles of others. For Example:
Tamara California raised- lived through childhood abuses to the extent of having to be placed in foster care. Understanding the fears associated with abuse makes her sensitive to the victims of it. After becoming a victim early on, she had become incapable of defending herself and became a target for more abusive situations later in life. As time went by she created a CD expressing the inner conflicts of those in abuse situations and the quest for love and understanding. At several points in life experience the loss of loved ones thru untimely deaths- a husband at age 17 a baby boy at age 20. Car accidents claiming the lives of closest friends and later her business caused by a fire and orchard loss thru drought - which to financial collapse while struggling to maintain the desire to live, turned completely to music as the purpose/goal in life, and is in full support of others whose goal is the same, in hopes to make a difference to proved strength -thru song .
James Lee of Washington State- (who the Band was developed for so he could live his dream,) lost his father at age 2- grieving thru childhood over the separation developed A.L.S. Lou Gehrigs- and an eating disorder- Achalasia by age 4 has suffered his entire life. Having died for moments and brought back to like thru the efforts of paramedics has struggled to maintain life all with the hope to be able to play drums again understands and wants to support others in their times of need.
Rick also of Ca. went thru life the hard way- abused as a child which turned him to the Martial Arts which led him into MMA and ultimately a defender of the vulnerable, a reaction he developed by kindergarten. After leaving MMA as a career he moved to Florida and Alabama for 16 years where he experienced Katrina- Ivan- and the BP oil spill later which he lost his Company as a Landscaper and later the job he held in construction which pulled out due to the housing value crash, the financial pressure also cost him his family which left him. Making him sensitive to the struggles others contend with. Coming to Wisconsin- within a year was in a car accident which has removed his capacity to perform physically at the level - thus becoming even more compassionate to the needs of others.
Alan Ruechel was encouraged by his mother- (whom he lost in his early twenties to cancer- to create and play music) has become sensitive to the survivors and those who struggle with health needs and the survivors of those whose loved ones who have lost them. All in all music is a form of healing - not as an escape but as a platform for healing. Our sole desire is to promote bands who hold the same vision- to bring that healing energy to their shows. Understanding also the struggles and hard work bands put into their music and the criticisms of the observers in their attempts- our goal is provide an atmosphere where they can shine as never before- and put a cause behind it - you have a powerful musical experience that is felt by those who play and those who partake in the true healing power of music.
Beginning with two bands the first year and several more the next, the indescribable feeling intensified... you could've cut the peaceful atmosphere with a knife! This is not a battle of the bands - this is not American Idol- no critics- just a cause. With everything happening around this country we are thankful to be living in this location were you still see the police out literally changing tires for people along side the road and bike clubs putting on more fundraisers than anywhere we've ever seen, this is the most amazing community we have ever lived in! This event is just one more log on the fire that is already burning! It's been said: " If you look for the bad, you are sure to find it- if you focus on the good ...everything becomes it!!"
