“Nev†Levin is a full-time henna artist practiced in the art of Mehendi since 1997. A multi-media artist working with henna, paint, paper and found objects, she creates imaginative, vibrant artwork. After earning her BFA from Maine College of Art, Nev spent ten years working as a potter as well as with people with special needs and the elderly, all of whom she helped to live richer lives through the arts.
In 2005 Nev made the decision to pursue her dream of running her own business and is now a full-time studio artist. Her success with the two businesses, ReMarkable Blackbird and Blackbird Studios has been well worth the initial risk.
One of the most sought after henna artists in New England, she brings her experience as a visual artist to Mehendi. Nev is internationally certified in the art of henna (ICNHA) and is a skilled practitioner in all styles of Mehendi including Modern, Traditional Indian, Moroccan and Indo-Aribic.
For a fuller experience in body adornment ask about two-tone, gilding or crystal accents. Nev uses special blends to work in a variety of situations. For pregnant bellies, ask about a relaxing lavender mix. For weddings, a bridal blend is used which gives rich dark long lasting color. All designs are chosen to enhance the natural radiance of each woman for her wedding day.
