Silk Dyeing is so much fun. You take sumptuous silk, fold it, scrunch it, twist it, or tie it, then squirt on a rainbow of vibrant colors. The dyes interact to create intricate and complex patterns. The dyes are steam set in the microwave, you rinse, iron, and voila! you have a fabulous piece of wearable art.
Scarves are 100% silk habotai and are 14 x 72 inches, which is a great size for tying in a variety of ways.

Hitchcock Press had its beginning in Holyoke, Massachusetts over one hundred years ago when Wisly Company was founded. Most of their business was in the Holyoke area; much of it with the many thriving paper mills that lined the Paper City's canal system at the time. Most of their work was letterpress printed using hand set type. They were also known for their lithographic printing where heavy litho stones were used.
Today, award winning Hitchcock Press continues to produce fine letterpress printed items. Our recent addition of a showroom quality Heidelberg KSBA "The Rolls Royce of Letterpresses" to our substantial letterpress equipment line up and the complete new layout of our letterpress area rounds out our letterpress printing capabilities. The precise registration of our presses allows for the letterpress printing of work in as many colors as desired. We use only engraved copper letterpress plates, which are yours to keep once your invitations are printed. We work with designers around the country and abroad to letterpress their designs.
