Tickled Pink Baby Shower

If you are tasked with planning a baby shower, finding a unique theme can be daunting. One way to get around this is to use colors as a theme. Choose two complimentary colors or multiple shades of the same color to serve as a guide and help pull together the elements of the shower.

Tired of pastels? Pick colors with punch! Bright pink and orange make a splash for a girl’s shower, while navy and green work great for a baby boy. Here are a few ideas using the orange and pink color scheme to create a fun "tickled pink" shower:

  • For flowers, choose bright pink peonies, orange ranunculas, or pink and orange zinnias. All of these flowers make a bold statement while remaining fun and feminine.
  • Dessert is a breeze when you use colors as your theme. Accent a basic cake with pink and orange polka dots, or create a cupcake tower with pink and orange frosted cupcakes!
  • Don’t forget to add finishing touches to your shower décor. Big paper lanterns in hot pink and orange set the stage for a whimsical shower.
  • For refreshments, serve pink lemonade and mimosas. Garnish the glasses with orange peels and raspberries.

Using color as a unifying theme works for any party, and especially helps when multiple people are involved in planning the party. Simply send helpers the colors and let them get creative!
