Dinner Party Theme: Lemons & Limes

Add a pop of color to your dinner party with a lemons and limes theme! This theme is fresh and cheerful for spring and summer. Pick and choose from these ideas to incorporate yellow and green—as well as actual lemons and limes—into your party decorations, centerpieces, menu, and more!

  • Centerpieces: Create beautiful, bright lemons and limes centerpieces for the dinner party. To start, fill clear, square or round vases with lemons and limes or choose one or the other. If you want to get really creative, put a smaller vase inside the bigger vase and fill it with flowers trimmed so that the stems end at the top of the square vase. Then, slice your fruit in half and place the pieces between the outside of the square vase and the inner vase so that your guests only see lemons and limes in bases with flowers on top.
  • Place settings: To add to your lemon and lime decorations, create a classic and fresh table setting that uses lemons and limes as color inspiration. Find green placemats and top them with white dishes. Buy or make bright yellow napkin holders to wrap around white cloth napkins for a pop of color on the plate.
  • Seating cards: If you want to have assigned seating, use your fruit to create fun seating cards for your guests. Halve limes, place them on a small plate in front of each setting, make a small slit in the top, and stick a handwritten card into the opening.
  • Menu: Incorporate your lemon and lime theme into the menu. From the appetizers and cocktails through the main meal and dessert, there are a number of ways you can work lemons and limes into your menu. Lemon chicken is always popular for the main meal. Lemon lime cake is a delicious dessert topped with vanilla ice cream or frozen yogurt. As for drinks, give guests a couple of options such as lemon lime martinis and premade pitchers of mojitos!
