  • Sports Tournament: Plan to celebrate dad’s day and have a big family bocce game or mini golf tournament in your backyard. Or divide your family into teams, maybe even make some t-shirts ahead of time and play a friendly game of flag football at a local park or in your backyard. Include everyone there and afterward, plan a trip to your local ice cream parlor to celebrate the winning team- and dad of course.

  • Field Day Tournament: Set up a Father’s Day field day tournament in your backyard. Make kids the captains of the team and have them pick their teammates. Before the grill is lit start off the Father’s Day activities tournament with potato sack races, tug-of-war, and an obstacle course. After everyone is filled with food and drinks, relax and end the tournament with a few games of corn-hole.

  • Board Game Tournament: Here are some Father’s Day game ideas for a rainy Father’s Day. Set up board games throughout your home, including all of dad’s favorites. Start with Scattergories then move onto Monopoly and charades. Make sure to add a few card games into the mix. To end the tournament and celebrate dad, pop some popcorn and curl up on the couch to watch his favorite movie as a family.

  • Food & Drink Tournament: If you’re inviting a few families over, what better way to celebrate the dads than by having them participate in Father’s Day activities like a fun and competitive blind beer tasting contest? Make this into a Father’s Day game and fill small plastic cups with a tasting of six different beers, ales and lagers. Have each dad write down their answers after each individual tasting, the winner gets bragging rights for a full year. Or, have the dad’s participate in a grill-off with the kids as judges. Reward the winning dad with a variety summer 6-pack from your local package store.
